Chatbots

Learn how to create and manage your chatbots.

Chatbots are the core of LeadJot - they're your AI assistants that engage with visitors, answer questions, and perform actions like capturing leads or booking meetings.

Creating a Chatbot

To create a new chatbot:

  1. Navigate to Chatbots in your workspace
  2. Click "Create Chatbot" button
  3. Fill in the chatbot details:
    • Name: Give your chatbot a name (up to 40 characters)
    • Knowledge Base: Select a trained knowledge base (optional but recommended)
  4. Click "Create Chatbot"

After creation, you'll be taken to your chatbot's settings page where you can customize its behavior, appearance, and actions.

Choosing a Knowledge Base

You can connect a knowledge base when creating your chatbot, or add one later. If you select a knowledge base:

  • It must be trained (status shows as "trained" in green)
  • The chatbot will use this knowledge base to answer questions
  • You can change or remove the knowledge base later in settings

If you don't have a knowledge base yet, you can create one from the Knowledge Bases section first, or create the chatbot without one and add it later.

Even if you create a chatbot without a knowledge base, you can still configure its behavior, appearance, and actions. You just won't have document-based answers until you connect a knowledge base.

Chatbot Limits

Your workspace has limits on how many chatbots you can create based on your plan. Check your Usage page to see:

  • How many chatbots you've created
  • Your plan's chatbot limit
  • How many chatbot slots you have remaining

If you hit your limit, you'll need to delete unused chatbots or upgrade your plan to create more.
